As you all know, growing and moving forward in life requires changes. These past few years have been uniformly difficult in dealing with various pressures related to COVID, severe respiratory illnesses, and shortages of staff and providers. Managing a very busy pediatric practice is no different. Sometimes these changes can be difficult but are deemed necessary for us to ensure the continued optimal care for the families we serve. After working for 15 years at our practice and having a career spanning 5 decades, it is very difficult for us to announce that Dr. Green will be retiring at the end of this month. We have enjoyed our time with Dr. Green during our many years together and she has been a reliable part of Summerwood for a long time. We cannot express enough gratitude for the care and love she has brought to our practice, the families, and especially the children. If you want to share any good wishes, please send them to our office and we will be sure Dr. Green receives them. With that, we also need to tell you of the difficulties we have been facing with the current building owners of Medical Center West and with finding sufficient medical staff and providers to maintain our services at our West location. For those of you who go to our Camillus site, you may have noticed that the majority of the facility is empty and it now lacks the supportive services we need such as x-ray, reference laboratory, and MRI facility. We have been at the Camillus site for about 25 years, during which time the building has exchanged ownership hands three times. The current owners have been very difficult to work with and our related lease costs have become unaffordable. As a result, we had to make the difficult choice to close our Camillus location at the end of January. With time, we hope to open a new location in the Camillus area as we understand the need for quality pediatric care in that area. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause some of you and hope that you will stand by us as we make these transitions. Centralizing our services and staff at our main Liverpool office will undoubtedly increase our service efficiency and availability for your children’s needs. We are excited to have you meet our new provider staff at your upcoming visits and know that we are still actively looking for well-qualified providers to help us deliver quality and timely care of your children. Your children are our priority, and we thank you for your understanding and support as we move toward a future that looks a little different but will be just as reliable and comforting as you have come to expect from us. Sincerely, Dr. Dracker and the Staff of Summerwood Pediatrics
Dear Families,
Our practice is in desperate need of RN’s and LPN’s to assist us in caring for our patients. I am sure you are aware of the severe shortage of nursing personnel on both a local and national level. Unfortunately, without adequate nursing staff to assist us with patient care, our ability to see adequate patients for both acute illnesses and routine care will be impacted. If you or someone you know would like to consider working at our practice and assist us in caring for your children please let us know. Both part and full time positions with attractive salaries are available. If interested, please contact our office at: 315-701-2144 or email: Shelley Fleming, HR Director, at: [email protected].
Sincerely and with appreciation, Dr. Dracker
